A man has been charged with murder in the 2017 shooting of a 26-year-old Bronx woman, officials said.

Kenneth Smith, 51, was taken into custody at his Belmont residence Tuesday for allegedly killing Margarita Franco on April 2, 2017, as she spoke on her cell phone outside a Williamsbridge deli, according to police.

The killer and Franco spoke briefly before he raised his weapon and shot her in her head, police said.

The killing was caught on surveillance video.

Smith, who has numerous prior arrests, is also charged with weapon possession. He is expected to be arraigned Wednesday in Bronx Criminal Court.
