A bicycle-riding thief is snatching smartphones from women in the Bronx, and police are urging users to stay alert.

The NYPD recorded six phone-snatching incidents by the same suspect this month, with each of the female victims targeted by a man riding a mountain bike in the Bronx, authorities said.

In one case, a woman’s purse was stolen as she ate at an outdoor restaurant table, according to the NYPD. In other cases, phones were snatched from womens’ hands and pockets, authorities said.

The victims ranged in age from 19 to 25, authorities said. None was hurt.

Surveillance video captured the bicyclist riding away from one of the grand larceny incidents near East 189th Street and Arthur Avenue in Belmont.

Anyone with information is asked to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
