Police arrested a man for murder Tuesday after a 29-year-old victim was fatally shot inside his Morrisania apartment, authorities said.

Authorities responding to Shaquille Yorke’s residence at East 162nd Street and Melrose Avenue found Kevin Barton, of Wakefield, wounded with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest about 8:40 p.m., according to the NYPD.

Barton was pronounced dead at Lincoln Hospital a short time later.

Yorke, 25, is charged with murder, manslaughter and weapon possession, records show. He was ordered held without bail at his arraignment in Bronx Criminal Court.
