Authorities responding to reports of a foul odor Friday found a dead man tied up in a Bronx apartment, his body slashed and his ankles bound to his wrists with duct tape, officials said.

The man, who has not been publicly identified, suffered slash wounds to his torso and wrists. It’s not clear how he sustained the injuries, officials said.

Authorities got a call about the smell coming from inside the locked apartment at 2323 Creston Avenue in Fordham Heights about 2:30 p.m. After removing the apartment door, they found the body inside, officials said.

It’s not clear whether the man lived in the apartment. No arrests had been announced as of Saturday afternoon.
