Death of 1-Month Old Bronx Girl Ruled Homicide

The death 1-month old girl in the Bronx has been ruled a homicide after the city Medical Examiner found she suffered blunt force trauma, authorities said.

Authorities found Monreux Mercado unresponsive about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday inside a Webster Avenue apartment after someone called 911, authorities said.

Paramedics rushed the infant to Bronx Lebanon Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead.

No arrests had been made in connection with Mercado’s death as of Friday.
