Police are searching for an attacker who stabbed a 19-year-old man in Melrose last Sunday.

The culprit and his victim got into an argument after 3 p.m near the intersection of 149th Street and 3rd Avenue, leading the attacker to leave the scene—and later return—with a knife, police said.

He stabbed the victim once in his torso, police said.

The victim was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries. An update on his condition was not available Sunday.

The stabber is believed to be in his mid to late 20s and weigh 150 to 160 pounds, with his hair in braids.

Anyone with information is asked to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
