23-Year-Old Man Killed in Bronx Shooting

A 23-year-old man was killed by a gunman in Crotona Saturday, police said.

Jaranthony Perez took three bullets to his chest, according to the NYPD.

The shooting happened about 11:30 a.m. as Perez stood outside an apartment buildingĀ on Belmont Avenue near Tremont Park, police said. He was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police on Wednesday arrested the alleged gunman, Steven Richards, 26, charging him with murder, manslaughter, and weapon possession.
