High-Tech Program to Study Air Pollution Launches in South Bronx

Five city vehicles in the South Bronx are being equipped with state-of-the-art sensors developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and will collect black-by-block data as they drive around the borough.

Neighborhood activists are fighting the city’s plan to build an affordable housing complex in the Bronx after local news outlets revealed campaign donations made by the complex’s developer to key borough officials, who later signed off on the project.
