An NYPD police officer assigned to the Bronx committed suicide at his Long Island home Wednesday—the fourth member of the department to kill himself this month, according to officials familiar with the incidents.

Kevin Preiss, 53, was found with a fatal gunshot wound after turning a gun on himself on his front porch in Nassau County, the officials said.

Preiss, a 22-year department veteran, was off duty at the time, the officials said. He spent most of his career in the 50th Precinct, which covers Riverdale and Kingsbridge.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
