Police are searching for a woman they say attacked a Hispanic victim in a Bronx subway station during a potential hate crime, authorities said.
The culprit carried out the assault on a train in the Pelham Parkway station, on White Plains Road, about 4 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
An argument broke out between the two women, during which the attacker allegedly removed the 54-year-old victim’s contractor helmet and slammed it into her face and head multiple times while making anti-Hispanic statements, police said
“Go back to your country,” the attacker allegedly shouted, in addition to accusing the victim of “taking jobs” from Americans.
The victim was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital.
Police said the alleged attacker is believed to have burgundy-colored hair and wore all black during the crime, along with a camouflage scarf.
Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-577-TIPS.
