A coronavirus-related syndrome has been detected in 110 New York City children as of Friday, with the Bronx registering the highest case count, authorities said.

Over half the children suffering from the mysterious ailment, known as pediatric multi-system inflammatory syndrome, have tested positive for COVID-19 or its antibodies, according to officials.

About 37 percent of recorded cases are in the Bronx, according to city data.

“I will wager that is only going to go up and it will be much more widespread than anyone thinks,” Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Friday.
