Detectives are hunting a person of interest in the slaying of a 40-year-old mother in Belmont, authorities said.

Luz Perez was found dead in her home at 519 E. 187th Street on Oct. 13, with trauma to her head and body, police said. Her death was officially declared a homicide by the NYPD Monday, and the department released a photo of a man considered a person of interest in her killing.

He is described as standing about “six feet tall, wearing a black du-rag and dark green waist-length jacket with multiple patches.”

Anyone with information is asked to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
