The first batches of COVID-19 vaccines are reaching the Bronx this morning, Bronx Justice News has learned.
Doses of the coronavirus drugs produced by Pfizer and BioNTech are being processed at a FedEx facility in Hunts Point, where they will be kept in cold storage.
More than 70,000 doses of the vaccine will reach the city this week as part of an initial shipment, authorities said.
State plans call for the first vaccines to be administered to front line health care workers and nursing home patients, with less vulnerable populations able to receive the drug afterwords.
