Police have arrested a man they say harassed an Asian woman on the subway, spitting on her and telling her to go back to China amid the coronavirus pandemic, authorities said.

Billy Rosario, 39, of the Bronx, is charged with aggravated harassment in Friday’s incident aboard a northbound No. 5 train shortly after 8 a.m, according to the NYPD.

The spitting attack happened near Wales Avenue and East 150th Street, setting off a manhunt that culminated in Rosario’s arrest.

The investigation remains active, police said, and additional charges are possible.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the NYPD‘s Crime Stoppers hotline at 1800577TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 188857PISTA (74782).
