Joey Pabon, a 32-year-old recording artist, was fatally shot inside a Concourse Village apartment building Wednesday, authorities and relatives said.
An unidentified gunman opened fire and struck Pabon, a bachata singer and former member of the Latino music group Marcy Place, about 7:40 p.m. at the Grand Concourse building, striking him in his back.
He was rushed to Lincoln Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
No arrests have been announced in the case.
