A Bronx woman was slashed by a male attacker without provocation on a subway train Wednesday, police said.

The victim, Rabia Bugum, 23, received stitches to her head and hand after the attack, which happened on a northbound No. 6 train at Brooke Avenue about 10:45 a.m., police said.

The slasher kept staring at Bugum, then followed her as she tried to change cars, she told police. Finally, he lunged at her with a sharp object, slashing her in multiples places.

Police were still looking for the attacker late Thursday.

Anyone with information is asked to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
