Local Man Shot to Death in Allerton

A 34-year-old Bronx man was shot and killed at the Eastchester Playground in Allerton Saturday, police said.

Forest Byrd, attending a late-night cookout at the park near his home, was gunned down about 1:30 a.m., according to the NYPD.

No arrests were immediately announced in Byrd’s killing. Anyone with information is asked to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
