Homicides on the Rise in NYC: Data

Homicides were on the rise across New York City in March, authorities revealed this week, with shootings also increasing.

The NYPD tallied 34 murders last month, up from 25 in March 2020, the department said.

Shootings in which people have been wounded are also on the rise, from 56 last year to 99 in 2021, department data show.
