A man pointing a fake gun at officers was critically wounded by police in Concourse Village early Saturday, authorities said.

The shooting happened after a pair of officers responding to a 911 call about a person with a gun at East 167th Street and Grant Avenue spotted the 21-year-old shortly after 12:30 a.m., police said.

The gun he pointed at them had a knife attached to its front, police said. The firearm, authorities discovered later, was an imitation.

At least one officer opened fire on the man, shooting him in his torso. He was rushed to Lincoln Hospital and listed in critical condition.

The man’s name was not publicly released.
