Man Slain Outside Monroe Houses as Deadly Weekend Continues

A 27-year-old man was shot and killed outside the housing project he called home Sunday, authorities said.

Ezequiel Rivera, a NYCHA tenant, suffered at least one fatal gunshot wound to the chest in front of the Monroe Houses in Soundview about 9:15 a.m.

He died at Jacobi a short time later, authorities said.

No arrests had been announced in his killing as of Monday morning.
