An NYPD cop was arrested Sunday for allegedly punching his estranged wife in the face during an assault at her Bronx residence, authorities said.

Robert Castillo, 51, of the 42nd Precinct, was off duty when he landed the facial blow on the victim and tossed her against a wall in her City Island home, leaving her with cuts and bruises, according to prosecutors.

Castillo, whose since been suspended by the police department, is charged with crimes including third-degree assault, criminal mischief, and aggravated harassment.

The 17-year veteran of the force has a history of violence against his wife, but has nonetheless managed to keep his job with full benefits and salary. He is next due in Bronx court Dec. 18.

Castillo could not immediately be reached for comment.
